BIOGRAPHY
Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Gül Aydın
Dr. Elif Gül Aydın graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry between 2008-2013 with great success.
From 2013 to 2017, she received her specialization training in Pediatric Dentistry at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry.
She worked in state institutions between 2017 and 2019.
From 2019 to 2023, she served as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Sakarya University Faculty of Dentistry, where she earned the title of Assistant Professor (Yrd. Doç. Dr.).
Since 2023, she has continued her professional work in a private clinic.
She is a member of professional organizations such as the Turkish Pediatric Dentistry Association, the Turkish Society of Pediatric Dentists, IADR (2021-2022), DEPAD, and IAPD (2023).
She has published many scientific articles in national and international journals. Additionally, she has completed training in functional jaw orthopedics.
Her areas of expertise include:
- Dental treatments for children aged 0-14 years, dental trauma, and dentofacial pathologies related to growth and development.
- Baby and children's oral health – monitoring the development of primary teeth and early dental development. - Preventive dentistry – fluoride applications, fissure sealants, and treatments to prevent dental caries.
- Dental caries and filling treatments – special fillings for children and preventive treatments for dental caries.
- Root canal therapy (Pulpectomy and Pulpotomy) – root canal treatments in children and procedures to protect the tooth.
- Preventive orthodontic treatments – early interventions to prevent dental crowding and jaw malocclusions.
- Trauma and emergency dental treatments – treatment of dental injuries caused by falls, impacts, or accidents.
- Tooth extractions and space maintainers – appliances used to prevent progressing dental misalignments following early tooth loss.
- Genetic and developmental anomalies – management of congenital tooth defects, enamel or dentin disorders.
- Habit-breaking appliances – treatments to correct habits such as thumb sucking, nail-biting, and tongue thrusting.
- Sedation and general anesthesia – methods used to provide comfortable treatment for children with dental anxiety or special needs.
